350 SBC timing in an AK

I have started my rebuilt engine, egg cup of fuel down the holly and it fired and ran 1st touch of the hot wire. I only had the headers on, mind and ear blowing.
I thought I had set the timing at about TDC just to see if it would start but now it will run and tick over I have put a timing light on it with the vac pipe off it shows 14' advance Can anybody help with what it should be at tick over to fully advance Do you need any more info on the engine?}( }( {-}

Assuming your engine is reasonably stock, then a figure of 10 deg BTDC would be quite typical. (Vac disconnected and plugged)

Total timing should be close to 34 degrees.

No just a good timing light that you can wind back to TDC at the correct speed.
If you haven't got one then a timing tape or a protractor to mark the pulley.

DS

You say its a rebuilt engine, have you had a new camshaft fitted?, if so you must run the engine for half an hour varying the revs between 2000 and 3000 to break the cam in.
