willans harness

Santa brought me a pair of willans harnesses (to DAX spec),
the trouble is there is a label on the box stating that they are NOT 'E' APPROVED !

I assume that i can't fit these for SVA, How come Dax sell them if they are not suitable?

Has anybody had this problem and what do i do?

Also when do dax reopen ?

merry christmas

RE: willans harness

Hi Tom.
Don't worry, they are fine. They are not approved for racing but are fine for road use.

RE: willans harness

SVA does not require E marked belts - you can have equivalents or better. The mounting arrangements will be more of an issue to the inspector than a Willans harness that obviously exceeds the standard Britax offering....

Re: willans harness

Does somebody know where Arcoll harnesses are sold? I am searching for 3 inches wide, FIA approved blue harnesses?

Re: willans harness

Try TRS, they will custom make belts to any length, colour, fixing type etc. and will give FIA approval

Re: willans harness

The GD harnesses are not FIA approved because as wazovolan says, you need them to be 3" wide. The GD ones are slimmer (and hence look a bit neater)

Re: willans harness

Thanks for your reply; I noticed on the site TRS that some harnesses had the label FIA approved but maybe this was according to the previous regulations. Now, it has to be 3 inches wide.
