RE: Oil Pan Gasket

Hi Barry,

Is there such a thing? I know they do rubber/composite gaskets, but not sure if they're one piece.

RE: Oil Pan Gasket

Simon,
There sure is! One came off my current engine, and it does have a part number on it F4TE-6710-CB. Repower who supplied the engine, used to do them but doesn't now.
The pain is I ruined it, and as you can imagine, using a one piece is so much better to assemble when the engine is in situe. I do know they exist, but finding one in the UK might be a little difficult!
Thanks for the responce.
Barry

Chris,
Had tried Customville and several other part suppliers earlier in the day with no joy. Just tried American Auto Parts and HEY PRESTO, one is winging it's way to me as we speak. Thank you, you're a star!!

RE: Oil Pan Gasket

Barry,

Interesting, how much was it?
I could do with one when putting my engine back together.

Milodon make a one-piece with steel inserts for the bolts so the rubber won't get crushed. Got mine (for 289) from Summit.

RE: Oil Pan Gasket

Simon,
They are slightly expensive....at £39.70. Plus p&p it came to £58.97. However on the plus side, the gasket comes with 4 guide pins. These screw in the 2 front & 2 rear sump bolt holes. They have ridges that support firstly the gasket and then the sump. Once assembled you can unscrew the pins.
For assembly of gaskey & sump when the engine is in situe and it's only feet above the ground, these pins are bloody magic! Another bonus of these gaskets, they are reusable.
I assembled mine in minutes and there are no leaks. Result!
