Fuel Pump Location

One of the earlier activities in my build was to install the fuel lines and fuel pump. I have a FF Euro 427 and I installed the fuel pump in one of the recesses inside the trunk, directly below the fuel tank. Thing is, it is technically inside the car. SVA says that all fuel components should be installed to minimize the risk of fire in the event of a fuel leak. Will my fuel pump pass SVA or should i relocate it? Anyone else installed the fuel pump in the trunk?

John

RE: Fuel Pump Location

Hi John
No its fine :P The only reasons for failure are those printed on the third colunm of the page. If anything the fact that your pump is in the boot illiminates most of the reasons for failure. At the end of the day, wheres the tank? in the boot :tu
Cheers

RE: Fuel Pump Location

Hi John.
One thought, it may be worth making a cover if the pump is liable to be knocked by stray luggage etc in the boot.
Couple of pics at http://www.cobraclub.com/crcforum/dc...id=30680&page=
Cheers :tu

RE: Fuel Pump Location

Chris

Wot, no rear foglamp?

The car looks great! Great color scheme. I still haven't decided on mine but we (Mrs Cobra and myself) are considering deep metallic purple. Or silver. Or blood red metallic. Or....

BTW I have thought about protecting the fule pump. On the FF the trunk inner GRP moulding has to recesses under the tank; i have the battery in one and the fuel pump in the other. i intend th blank off the fuel pump recess, you won't even know its there.

Thanks agiain for the input
