A stupid question regarding headlamp rims

I recently scratched the chrome headlamp rims on my viper. Enquiring with Europa revealed that they stock '7" id and 8 1/2" od chrome rims'. I am not sure if this is of the right size. Could someone enlighten me? Also, could you please let me know what size stone guards to buy and where to buy them (headlamp rims), if the ones Europa stock are the wrong size.

Many thanks
Nirmal.

RE: A stupid question regarding headlamp rims

Nirmal,

See the email thread on headlight rims further down the main page.
Same problem. The rims are 7 1/2" o/d (probably the 7" i/d ones quoted). A couple of good photos there.
The email replies show the correct cross section as well.

Kirk

RE: A stupid question regarding headlamp rims

Hi Mirmal
The Headlamps are 7", so you need 7" stoneguards. The rims come in 8.5"od and 8"od You need 8" Europa part no S5445. HTH
Cheers

RE: A stupid question regarding headlamp rims

If it's the id/od terminology which you're unsure about this is short for inside diameter and outside diameter of the headlamp ring. As you have the original scratched one just measure the inside and outside diameters to check that against what you have been offered @ Europa. Providing the type of fitting is the same (eg lugs with single screw underneath?) & you have explained the application to them you should be OK.
If not then you could try any of the Cobra kit suppliers or a company such as SVC.
