Pipe flaring tool in Gatwick area

Does anyone in the vicinity of Gatwick area have a pipe flaring tool they might be willing to lend me? I've got to flare the ends of my bundy tubing for the wiper motors and it doesn't seem worth buying one just for that...

I'm willing to supply jaffa cakes and beer in exchange...

Robin,

I've got one you could borrow and I'm based in Brighton. Drop me an email if you're interested.

A GD owner so near!! I've got a bid running on eBay for one at the moment which should be completed today. If I don't win that, then I will drop you a line...

RE: Pipe flaring tool in Gatwick area

I'm still building mine too. Albeit I've been at it for a few more years (hmm, was it really 98 when I ordered the chassis?!?)

Anyway, you're more than welcome to borrow (or have to keep for a very discounted rate ) the flarer if the auction doesn't pan out.

BTW, how did the engine bay turn out (as I'm upto my ears in gel coat and wet&dry at the moment)? Bloody pin holes...

Mike,

Hadn't forgotten about you - I should've said "GD builder" nearby... I think of your hangar like workspace every time I squeeze past my project. I'd have it finished by now if I had a decent sized garage.
Is your flaring tool suitable for bundy tubing?

Richard,

If you are ever in the Gatwick area you are welcome to drop in for a coffee. The damn engine seam is going to need another layer of gelcoat, since the step was huge. It looks OK, but pinholes are the least of my worries. If I'd done it right the first time then it would be finished by now too...

RE: Pipe flaring tool in Gatwick area

If you need a test pilot then let me know!

I'm not type-rated, but how hard can it be?

Is the GD back on the road yet? I'm stressing over how difficult it is going to be to get the engine running (not that I have an engine yet, or a chassis to drop it onto)...
