Spark Plugs

Being new to small block chevrolet motors and with the variety of bolt on performance enhancers available on the market I would like to ask a couple of questions to anyone who may have the time.
First question is what is the preferred spark plug manufacturer and a suggested spark plug type for a bog standard 350ci chevy, secondly is there a rule of thumb for choice of spark plug type with increasing degree of tune, or is it a case of run it and go hotter or colder as the case may be.

Cheers Tony

RE: Spark Plugs

From GM I have elucidated that the appropiate plug is GM part number 5613867. Investigating further, the AC Delco part number eqivalent, is R44T. This plug type is for a bog standard 350 built 1986-1988, with standard heads.
