How to ID your rear axle?!?

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to tell what my rear axle came from?

I brought the axle as just that, an axle, its got a 3.07 P/lock diff and the required inboard brake discs. However I dont know what jag its from so deciding which bit of the Haynes manual to follow and which bits to buy dont seem that easy at the moment. Are there any easy ways to tell or are most bit compatible?

many thanks

Andy

RE: How to ID your rear axle?!?

Andy, I to have just got all my donor parts and as far as I'm aware all the XJ6/12/S parts, provided the've got the inboard discs, are all interchangeable (someone will probably correct me on this) but looking in some spares guides I have all the discs/pads etc are all the same part No. for all three models.

I'm going to be fitting all new nuts/bolts (apart from the fulcrum shafts, to dear!) to mine so when I've sorted the list out with all the sizes/types I'll let you have a copy if it helps.

Good luck.
