Shot blasting and powder coating

I have some small metal parts (8" x 8") that I have stripped but still need to have the rust cleaned off fully and black powder coating applied.
Anyone have a contact that would do this little job for me?

There must be someone who can do it cheaper and faster than this?

You could try Simon or George at Vulcan Shot Blasting (Basildon, Essex) on 01268 282662 he comes highly recommended, just had my Halibrands shot blasted and powder coated and the finish was superb (and only a 1-week turnaround). They also powder coat the axles for ‘Ward Engineering’. What more can I say.

Hi,

I’ve used them in the past and been very happy with their service but I’ve never posted them anything. Millennium Coatings in Ripley, Derbyshire: 01773 513221. Giving them a call to find out can’t hurt.

Architectural Fabrication and Finishing Ltd were recommended to me in Ringmer, East Sussex. I’ve not used them yet so can’t comment on their workmanship. 01273 814144

Or my local car stuff shop in Derbyshire sells a super tough spray on black paint that you put in the oven for an hour after it’s dried. Costs about 6 quid for a large can and doesn’t smell when being cooked. I’ve used it a lot and it is really good stuff, the result is like powder coat. I’m sure your local Motor World or similar will sell it. I think it’s called Super Tough Paint and the can has a picture of a black roll bar on a yellow sports car.

A wire brush attachment for your drill or angle grinder will make quick work of the rust and if you can fit the parts in your home oven it’s a cheap option that you don’t have to wait to get done. Great for those little parts it isn’t worth taking to be coated on there own.

If you can’t get it I can post you a can or two but I won’t be in Derbyshire for a couple of weeks so you’d have to wait. Or anyone else for that matter, as I say it is useful stuff to have in the garage.

I've been using Conqueror of Royston for years - gloss or semi-gloss black, blasted in-house. Excellent quality, reasonable prices.

I spoke to Simon at Vulcan; he was really helpful.
Job agreed: Shot blasted, zinc coated, gloss black powder coating on top.
One week turn round for the job £20 inc postage.
Much prefer this option rather than a DIY type of finish.
Let's see what it looks like but seems like a deal.
