I've only gone and bloody done it....

It's official. I've ordered my own Euro GD and now I'm rocking backward and forwards on my heels, crying softly, as I see how much it is going to cost me...

Not decided on engine yet, tempted to go for the LS1, but might stick with the 350.

Colour? Green - bottle green.
Carpets? Fawn (sort of light brown)
Seats? Chocolate Sateen

Scared witless by the prospect, but it's going to be worth it...

I'll keep you updated...

Robin

RE: I've only gone and bloody done it....

Hi Robin,
If I'd known 7-8 months ago that LS1 engines would be so cheap to obtain, I'd have gone this route instead of the old iron 350.
Yes, there's more complexity with all the engine management stuff, but in the end it should be worth a lot in your pocket with the fuel economy - by going for the GD Euro, I take it you want to drive the car more than just polish it - so this could be significant.

The GD team are always coming up with new ideas to improve the presentation detail of their cars - like hose carrier brackets, screen pillar covers and fog/reverse light standoffs. You will have seen these on the silver 03-reg demo car. I've bought these for mine, but they weren't on the original spreadsheet when I placed the order.

I worried about paying for mine - at the time of the order I could JUST about afford it.... but given a few months and plenty of overtime, the bank balance got topped up beyond the danger zone!

Simon

Jim,
They go in the footwells and cover the mountings for the screen pillars, to keep the SVA inspector happy (pillars have square edges). They're good for neatness and finish too.

Unfortunately I haven't got a picture on the PC to attach to this reply.

I've started a new charity - the Robin Creffield Cobra Foundation - we aim to buy a Cobra for an underprivileged adult who is so poor, he can scarcely afford the rolling chassis.

Donations please.
