Tremec TKO or TKO II ?

GENTS Advise please,

I have found an engine, but which Tremec box to fit.
My Diff ratio is 1:3.54

The 5th gear ratio of 0.68 or 0.82

Would I be right in thinking that the TKO II with a final of 0.82 would give around 75mph at 3000rpm?

Any suggestion and I am interested in what other's out there have fitted

The engine is a 350 chevy will be approx 375hp.

David

I have started, so I hope I can finish.....:tu :v

RE: Tremec TKO or TKO II ?

David
I've got a 3.07 diff / 420hp stroker and have gone for the TKOII with the 0.82 final ratio. The closer 4th to 5th ratio and the shorter final drive should make for a better driving experience.
Your 3.54 and 0.82 will mean you'll be pulling about 2500 rpm at 70mph which should be OK. I was advised that the shorter 5th gear ratio made legal motorway cruising a bit easier as the engine runs better with the revs north of 2000rpm.
Your short diff ratio gives you a few more options than me though, there is a gearratios spreadheet somewhere on the site that will give you an idea of the difference between the two 5th gear ratios. I've tried to attach it but not sure if the site accepts excel uploads (you may need to save it and change the extension to .xls).
Hope this helps
