What length battery cable?

I'm going to bung a VWP order in (annoyed that I've just bought some considerably more expensive P-clips from Namrick, but hey-ho...). I've already got a negative lead and clamp for my battery, but need a positive one.

Still not sure how they route into the engine compartment (despite several people telling me...) - some more pictures, please...

RE: What length battery cable?

Robin,

Finally, a question I can answer!

The leads route from the battery into the engine compartment simply by drilling holes through the dividing wall.

Insert a short length of threaded bar (GD supplied mine) and fix it in place with a nut/washer on either side of the wall and then bolt the leads to these bars. So, the leads run from the battery to one side of the bars. Connect the loom and earth straps to the other side of the bars. On mine this resulted in two positive cables (brown to loom and red to starter) and one negative cable (to the chassis earthing point).

I know a picture paints a thousand words but I dont have any at present!

Paul
