Indicator side-repeated location

Where's the best place to put these (and route the wiring)?

RE: Indicator side-repeated location

Robin,

The centre of mine are 6cm above the dummy vent and on an imaginary verticle line from the foremost point of the dummy vent.

Can't help on the loom as I didn't use the GD one.

Rgds

Jim

RE: Indicator side-repeated location

I guess it depends if you intend to keep them post SVA.
If yes where ever you think best, but somewhere near the vent is usual.
If you don't intend to keep them I suggest just above the vent so that you can cover the holes with the Cobra badges later. :tu

RE: Indicator side-repeated location

Robin,

I spoke to Craig about this very thing @stoneleigh - the bottom of the indicator is 1" above the recess and the front edge is on a line from the front slopeing side. Use two pieces of masking tape 1" wide to locate the position (if that not clear I will try again) - the actual hole looks like it will be inside the heater/battery area (nice and cosy!!).

If you dont want to keep them put them in the top corner of the recess as they can be removed and covered over with the fin things (that recess needs holes in it anyway to vent the heater)

I am intending to run my cable down the inside of the wheel arch, I am going to replace the self tappers I used on the main loom on the inside of the engine bay with bolts and pclip it to the same holes, but inside the wheel arch. (Just finalising my order with VWP, hence previous post on battery cut off/polysitch)

RE: Indicator side-repeated location

i placed mine directly above the vents in the middle, wires run through the wheel arch compartments ,although the pass side is a little tight due to the location of the heater matrix
