Get rid of thise horrible Sierra Stalks!

One thing that always annoys me on kit cars is the use of crapy old sterring column stalks. I undertsand the reason for using old scrapyard sterring columns but hate the fact that you have spent all those thousands making the car look a million dollars only for someone to look in and say , "yeh its a kit car, look at those old sierra stalks!"

So
Has anyone managed to replace the sierra stalks with nice ones? I here that Shinybitz do an exchange for turned ali. Anyone gots these and want to comment of the look/value?
What are my options

Cheers

Hi, do remember a liittle while back that somebody had some made that slipped over the sierra stalks, which I think had to be cut down.

They were either ali or S/S, try doing a search and I'm sure you'll find it!

Shinybitz can convert your sierra stalks to stainless-had mine done recently-very nice-about £70 set. He posted photos (of mine) a few weeks ago on club site

Re: Get rid of thise horrible Sierra Stalks!

The easiest solution is to use the correct original stalk asembly. They were fitted to early 1960's VW's, mainly the Karman Ghia (I think), but they are still readily available and simply clamp directly onto the steering column tube.
It also combines a headlight dip switch.
Cheers
