Stiff gearbox

When the car has been for running half an hour, and is really warmed up, it is difficult selecting first or second gear to set off. When going though, it goes up and down the box with ease. This does not happen when you start off from cold, only when hot. The gearbox is a T5 Borg Warner, brand new 10,000 miles ago. Is there a reason for this or am I just being paranoid that there is something going to go wrong with the box.

Re: Stiff gearbox

Chris,
It's probably a little clutch drag rather than a gearbox fault, seeing as it goes in gear ok on the move.

Firstly, check your clutch adjustment, travel and free play, bleed hydraulics if necessary.

Simon.
