Fire Extinguisher Systems

Hi Guys,

Does anybody know what fluid/gas is used in the fire extinguisher systems that are fitted in the engine bay.

I would have thought dry powder in a vehicle kelvin,not sure what powder it is though

Hi Kelvin,

Take a look at FirePro, it is an aerosol fire extinguisher. (http://www.cfs.nl/firepro/eng/frameset.html).

It's more expensive than a traditional extinguisher, but much safer because is has an temp. sensitive as well as a manual trigger, and it doesn't use powder or foam but a aerosol that is harmless to you engine.
