Bulkhead and steerring column

Seeing as ours seem a very much 'project' orienatated car (eg lots of bits missing, no build manual etc), we are coming along several problems. The most current is, as the steering column passes through the bulkhead, are there any bearings/bushes that it should travel through?
The steering column is bolted very tightly to a bracket that crosses from one side of the car to the other (just behind the dash).
If it does require a bush/bearing can anyone suggest a suitable one that will fit a triangular shaped shaft.
Model is cobretti/dms viper based on a cortina.
Cheers
Kevin and Helen

Re: Bulkhead and steerring column

Hi Kev

Yes there should be a bush on the bulkhead, Sierra use a triangular bush on there columns, I would think this will probably fit on the cortina column

Re: Bulkhead and steerring column

Get in touch with Iain Jones. He is at present still building his Viper, but quite a bit ahead of you so will probably have a solution to a lot of the problems you are having. He is a member of the forum so if you have not spoken to him before look in the members listings. :thumb:
