| December newsletter Dear all,
It is with a heavy heart ( as well as fallen arches, minor deafness and a small but embarrassing rash) that I must bid farewell to the esteemed role of Area Organiser. It has been an interesting 3 years during which time our branch has continued to grow and fulfil the many demands of our group.
You have all been very supportive with your assistance in setting up shows, runs etc and have always been keen to get together even on cold January Sunday's. You have also all been great friends with a warm welcome for all members whether new or old (some of which are very old !).
I am a little sad to be stepping down but I believe we may have someone willing to take on this role with renewed vigour and fresh ideas to make our club even more interesting and varied. Once this person has confirmed their acceptance of the role, we will let you know.
This year has been quite busy with the highlight being the Le Mans trip in July but also with a number of other meetings throughout the year. The Xmas bash at Tortworth Court Hotel a few weeks ago went down very well with all those in attendance asking if we can book again (I think they meant for next year !!). For those who could not make it this year, don't let another great party go by next year.
I would like to thank everyone for their lovely gifts that will be appreciated for the whole year and beyond. It was great to be surrounded by my friends and enjoy their company at a Christmas party, rather than the boring farts I work with (or was that the other way round ?)
Next year starts with January, February and March being booked at the AV8 Restaurant at Kemble Airfield just north of Chippenham for the 3rd Sunday of each month at around 12:00.
I have now included several new members in the email listing, having at last received a membership list update from our membership Secretary, and hope that the new guys will be able to come along and make themselves known.
Well, that about concludes my performance and leaves me with little to say except Happy Christmas and thank you for your support and friendship.
