Hello all and welcome to winter!
Well the last months (February that is) meeting at the Barley Mow went down well again and is proving to be very popular. Well done Paul and Terry for organizing the bowling and providing the very nice prizes which (shocked and stunned!) Audrey Benford won first prize and correct me if I'm wrong, Kevin Wells was second. Well done to you. The front cover of Snake Torque 98, which will be out any day now, honest, has a photo of all the cobras at the Feb meet at Goodwood taken by Steve Sleight, it looks quite sharp, look out for it.
Some of us went to the Goodwood Breakfast Club meeting on mothers day and then had a chase around the region trying to get into any pub or restaurant for a meal. We finally ended up at The Martlets in Bognor but it was worth the wait as we had a good meal and a good day out. There are a few photos of the day attached for you to view.
On Good Friday some of us (only the brave or stupid!!) went to Wheels Day at Rushmore Arena in Aldershot. As it turned out the weather was not as bad as forecast and it only rained after we left. Some of the cars were special and I have attached some photos of a stunning cobra. It is either a continuation model or Kirkham type car. It looked superb even with the unusual cut down windscreen. I want one.
March 08. Finally on to this months' meet. Meet up at Goodwood 10,30 onwards, oh and by the way the clocks do their usual moving and catch some of us out. Remember they go forward and you loose an hours sleep, ok Steve! don't turn up late please. I have booked The Gribble Inn for a change, however they have a cycling club in already but have said they will spread us around the restaurant, bar area and skittle alley. They promised to put the heating on and we can also use the skittles if we want. I hope as many of you as possible can come and join us and look forward to seeing you all on Sunday 30th. Attached is a picture of the last time we went there and had a posse photo.
