Hawk 289 wiring loom

Does anyone have a drawing of this loom (same kind you get in the Haynes manual books)? The information says I need to connect (for example) the brown wire to "number 4" on the headlight/sidelight switch. My loom did not come with a switch so what does this number mean?

The manufacturer has ignored my request to purchase a copy of the relevant drawing, which I would prefer being an electronics engineer myself.

There isn't a diagramatical wiring diagram for the Hawk 289 as far as I know. As far as I can remember I didn't encounter any problems wiring up my switches. I laid my wiring loom out on the garage floor and "dry fitted" the components. What switches are you using? The ones supplied had the numbers beside the terminals as far as I remember. There are only three wires on the switch and the brown is the un-fused power supply. It would be quite simple to test the switch terminals with a meter to determine which terminal was which. As said www.the289register.com is probably your best bet for Hawk related queeries.

Hi Mike,

Martin from ECS hasn't got a wiring diagram (to issue anyway) as I imagine that prevents people from copying his design. The loom normaly comes with the switches (mine did) If not you'd be better chasing the missing switch. Apart from some missing info with the immobiliser and some questions about the alternator connections, I found the installation pretty straight forward.

From memory Brown is fused live. If that helps.
