I do like the thinking but probably best to find something other than modifying a smoke alarm. They use a small radioactive source inside the smoke sensor.

How about some sort of timer, so it starts as "normal" then after 3 seconds of running it looks for the oil pressure to maintain ignition?

You could utilise a smoke alarm to shut off the fuel via a relay,
although it could be shutting you down due to normal under
bonnet fumes

What about a cut of of fuel in the event of an engine bay fire . To often I see fuel being being ignited by hot exhaust manifold.
