You could just undo the nuts on the front of the fulcrum shafts, and the 4 bolts in the top of the diff and the shock bolts. Then wriggle it back by around

The Dax does not use the bottom plate for the XJ/6 and XJS donor but a spreader plate at the rear joining the two fulcrum shafts for support.

14.7 psi is atmospheric pressure. It is added to gauge pressure to find the actual pressure.

Interesting. Yes, they are a total pain to get out. I have to take the fuel tank out of mine too. None of it easy without a decent lift. All heavy too.
