Air nailer

Does anyone in the SE have an air powered nailer I could borrow? Just want to put some boards in the loft...

Re: Air nailer

By the time you've collected it you could have the job done the traditional way.

Is there anything you're not using that compressor for ???

Re: Air nailer

My Waxoyl sprayer is a self contained unit...

...but pretty much everything else, yes!!

I might as well get the value out of it. Just noticed there are some SIP air nailers on evilbay for £20... might be worth getting my own at that price.

Re: Air nailer

Buy your own Robin, just think what you could do with a Rivnut and Nail Gun.

Re: Air nailer

If your laying the chipboard sheets, its best to use screws and preferably glued as well.
But if you do want to have a play, get yourself a "first fix" or framing gun not the "second fix" you've been looking at @ £15, cos the pins are too thin :thumb:

Re: Air nailer

Marvellous... was looking at using pine PSE, or is there a good reason I shouldn't?

Nope, but just remember you have to get the lengths up though the loft hatch

Re: Air nailer

It's a reasonably small area I'm boarding, so the boards will be cut to length before they go up there... thought they might be easier to manhandle than chipboard. Besides, the rafters aren't that level - there is some metalwork to contend with...
