350 Chevy Lifing Plate

Hi,

Does anyone have an engine lifting plate to fit a 350 chevy and an engine stand that I could borrow for a couple of weeks?

Regards
Garry

Hi gary

I made one from a piece of 1/4 inch thick steel and a fairly hefty U bolt. Did the job nicely. You can use your carb gasket to mark where to drill the holes for the bolts then all you have to do is centre up the U bolt in the plate. I'd post it to you but I cut it up to use as a pedal plate in the Speedster.

Hope that helps.

Andy

I can't bring myself to lift the engine on an alloy manifold and 4 tiny Little bolts going into it.
I got some brackets that attach to the head when I did it.
must be able to make some with some flat steel

Don't fret, done it loads of times and never had a problem. Including a Big block Chevy with tremec box and Lakewood bellhousing.
