Hi All
First post from a new member.
I have enjoyed very much all the postings (and rantings) during the last few months. After much deliberation and false starts/wrong turnings I believe I have made the right choice and purchased a GD427 Jag from Andy.
The chassis is due at the end of November and all the fun starts for real! I am not sure if this is the right place to ask on the forum but does anyone near Surrey/West London have an engine hoist that I can borrow/hire? I estimate I shall need it from November to March. If so please let me know,; if not then the credit card gets hammered again to the tune of £150.00.
Thanks again for all the info I have gathered to make the process easier so far.
Best regards
Stephen

My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

Hi Stepen,

Welcome, there are a lot of GDs popping up in the neighbourhood, so shout if you need to look at anything.

Can't help with the crane though(hired mine from HSS).

Good luck

Jim

(PS you might want to change your profile, I'm sure it's a Douglas rather than a Gouglas )

Steven.
Thats a long time for use of an engine hoist, I hired mine for the 1/2 hour it took to install the engine. If you need a Heavy Duty Engine Stand, to rebuild the engine on. I have one you can borrow.
Regards
Charlie.

I am planning to use the hoist to lift the complete rear axle/diff out of the people carrier after collection and then trundle it across the garage prior to installing it in the chassis.
This is on the 30/11/02.
The engine arrives end of Jan '03. The hoist again gets used to lift the engine out of the people carrier etc etc.
Working single handed throughout and need mechanical aids......
Looks like a trip to a tool shop is coming up!
All the best
Stephen
