engine setup

Does anyone in the Lincoln area know of a garage that can set-up a 3.5 rover with a webber carb. Most only seem able to cope with modern motors that they can plug in to the computer

Wayne,
I took my Cobra (RV8 with Holley) to D&B Carburettors in Nottingham. Tel: 0115-986 4971. I was very pleased with the work they did for me and they have a very good reputation.
I found this Cobra Club thread whilst hunting D&B's phone number for you. Have a read, it suggests there may be someone who is nearer to you in Lincoln...
Weber tuning specialists?

Cheers,
Russ.

Hi Wayne
Give High Street Garage at Corringham a call. They test my cobra each year and as the owner builds kits he's very sensible with his requirements.
They do proper mechanicing (is that a real word?) there with "old skills" so I am sure they'll be able to help.
Regards
Colin

Hi Wayne,
How about Paul Goy Racing in Lincoln or Dennis Vessey up at Barnetby, Nth Lincs?
Dennis has a rolling road and experience of your setup. He recently set up my mates MGBGTV8 with good results.
Regards,

The Rover V8 specialist in your area is V8 Developments in Lincs.
That's all they deal with and are experts on all aspects of this engine.

Hi Wayne,

I know its a bit out of your way but i took my 3.5 Rover V8 with a webber carb on it to Peter Baldwin at Wilshers Garage in Wimpole near Royston! (i drove mine from Peterborough) probably a bit too far south but he was excellent! Got me up and running with no problems - 160hp!! Went back to him when i uprated to 4.6 rover with webber carb and again excellent work got me running again now up to 250hp!!

Highly recommend him!
I have his number somewhere should you need it!

I've heard good things about Peter Baldwin.

One thing to bare in mind is that most if not all of the rolling road/dyno shops will NOT have the calibration kit that will be needed if any fueling changes are required. (The kit is a box full of needles, jets, and springs)

You can buy the kit from RealSteel.

If you turn up and the place does not have the required kit then all that they could do would be to say, your mixture is out but not be able to do anything about it.

The also need to know that the Edelbrock/weber is not like a "normal" weber!

HTH,

Pete

Corten Millers at Friskney near Boston are Webber agents and have a rolling road. They did a pretty good job of setting mine up.
