This gave his father and I the opportunity, on the drive up the M5/M6, to keep commenting on how improved the weather was and how there was still time to turn round and get the Cobra etc etc. Only threats of an enforced walk home put a lock on our witty banter.

Anyway a very good turnout of Cobras (see piccie) and even more owners, so this meet location will no doubt be repeated. It was also very intresting to see a wide selection of other car marques in attendance including VW beetles and vans, Old style Minis, New Style Minis, Golfs, TVR's, and even some Hot Rod type things..........including the worlds roughest E type, bonnet by polyfilla and paint by Dulux. Only the age of the exposed rust verified that the car was an original from the early 60's.

The most unusual car there was a time machine from the 1980's, and I mean a real time machine, a Delorean complete with Flux capacitor, external wiring and smoke machine for added effects. It was joined by another 10 or so standard DeLoreans who had perfected the art of gullwing door opening in convoy.

Here are a few piccies for your delectation.

Cheers,

Tony
Hi Guys

Myself and Jane also thought it was a good turn out, it was nice to meet some of the owners and put faces to names. I think we will be going again, the only let down was the cafe!! as the cue was some 30 mins long and to top it off there was only meat on the menu, this didn't go down to well with the wife as she is a vegetarian how hard would it have been to have toast & Butter on the menu as well apart from that the day I think was a success. David can you ask dave to pm me his number so I can get my car booked in to have a tune up. Cheers Russ

Ahh Russ, The early bird catches the bacon sandwich or toast & butter.
We were in the cafe by 9.00am, no que then.
Spent most of my time wondering how the DeLorean's managed to get to the meet
with those gull wing doors open at 70 mph on the M54.

Phil
