Re: Power steering?

I've driven an AK with p/s and it handles great. I believe AK charges 700-800 GBP. Don't know if it will fit yours, but you can always ask.

Ballpark sort of figure will do. Just to get things into perspective.
I know Madgwicks do a conversion but have no idea as to cost.
Mine was £850 + VAT fitted by AK. :thumb: :thumb:

Gareth, that's where your wrong, I thought exactly the same as you till I drove my mates AK with power.:thumb:

It totally changes the handling for the better on an AK.

I had a Sumo before, I will admit that didn't need power, especially with a Rover V8. :thumb:

Re: Power steering?

I suppose you don't miss what you never had.

Neither of the Cobras I have owned had P/S, just thought it would be a good idea (parking and the Lucy to drive).
The big BUT is that if it's going to cost that much I guess I won't bother.
I can find hundreds of things to spend £800 quid on all with a little more priority.

Thanks for the replies.

Re: Power steering?

The prices quoted are for retrofitted kits plus installation I would imagine.

If specifying power steering when the the kit is ordered the only additional cost should be the cost of the pump and fluid reservoir , the pipework and the price premium charged on a power steering rack over a manual rack.

As I already have the pump and reservoir, its just the cost of the pipework and the rack "price premium" I'll have to cover.

Thats the theory anyway !!

Cheers,

Tony
