My Cobra is stinking the house out - help!

Hello - my name is Jason and I am a new member. I Love my Gardner Douglas bought last week and had great fun so far. Only one problem - we have an integral garage and the whole house stinks of petrol! I did fill the tank right up first time (which I now know was a mistake) but is there anything else I can do? My Missus is not too keen on the car anyway and this is a bit of an issue.

Please help!

Jase.

Welcome Jase

You should have bought a Gardner Douglas instead, they stink worse than all the others

On a more serious note, when you leave them in the garage after a run, the petrol smell is awfull.

Hi Jase. Welcome
Divorce would seem the logical option
Again seriously. We need to know some more facts before we can even start to help. Is the smell continuous or does it it fade after a couple of days? What engine/carb are you running? What state of tune? Do you blip the throttle before you switch off? Etc

Stop editing your post's so it makes my reply seem illogical

If it's smelling just when it's parked up, then it sounds like you could have a leak, mine stinks after I leave it after a run, but within a couple of hours the smell has gone.

P.S I've got a wife that also isn't a Cobra lover, now the big decision is, which one do I trade in

The smell is constant. There appears to be no visible leak. It's a Rover 3.5 V8. I don't know what "bliping the throttle" is and I have no idea how it has been tuned (but it runs well). As you can tell I am a real novice on this sort of thing but definately willing to learn more.

Divorce is not an option but the car stays!

yes there is, the smell might be the fuel pipes, the hoses used do smell alot of fuel if fuel is left in them, someone on here had this problem and made up a copper line system that worked very well, what GD did you buy/? (engine year pump system etc..)

regards
