Hi all I've been researching this site for a few weeks now, finally got my hands on a part complete Sumo project. Looking forward to a challenging build / finish off job. I'll probably post some cries for help soon. For now just saying hi. Hopefully on the road this summer.

Good Morning and welcome. You are in the right place. There are lots of people on here who will provide advice and help in completion of your Sumo.
I hope you get as much pleasure out of your car as I do out of mine and the friends that you make in the process.
I put my car on the road in February 1989 and joined this club at the same time; I am still finishing it!

best wishes,

David

Welcome and congratulations.

All I can say is never give up - the feeling of driving that car once it is complete is great.

Hi I'm in Guildford, Surrey. Re Sumo its a cost effective entry into the market, I'm sure ye olde Ford V8 5L will give me a grin. Never been to any kind of kit car event, I'm walking around blind on this one, quite good fun. Just brought my 1st kit car mag yesterday. Learn't a tonne already. Anyone know any meets around Surrey? Should be on the road mid April. Looking for SVA end of Feb.

Hi Donut, So I understand you're just undertaking a Sumo build too? If so I'm sure we could pass a few handy tips each way. I've just stripped the entire bottom end out, changing the Sierra gear to Granada, Cosworth stuff all round disk etc. The current build isn't so flash in places. All parts in shot blasting right now, paint next week. Off on hols Monday, car will back on tyres 1st Feb ish. Hoping for SVA end of Feb early March. Seb

Hi Seb, 20 mins away???

Feel free to call round, (pm me), if you need any help/advice you are literally surrounded by knowledge. Unfortunately the Surrey side of things seems to have disappeared but the SE and Thames Valley area are very active and have regular meets. Both are worth going to. There is the Guildford Cruise which is predominantly American muscle but a few of us attend regularily (when the weather gets better) a good evening out on the first Sat of each month. Next show will probably be the Aldershot WheelsDay on Good Friday, you would be mad to miss it? 2500 cars there last year!

Chedz (Graham) has recently built a Sumo and is in Farnbourgh, I'm not too far away in Bagshot. (I did not built my Sumo but have sort of re-built it after a slight "mis-hap" )

Nobby (Nick) is just down the road but he built a Dax so don't even talk to him!

If you get stuck give any of us a shout! (But be prepaired for some piss taking, it comes with joining the gang!)

Cheers,

Pete
