He fought Cancer he can now finish his dream! Hi there - my husband Paul has been building his Dax Cobra for the past five years or so but things have come along to knock us back one after the other. Our worlds crashed when he was diagnosed with cancer last year and for a whole year he was off his feet while he had to undergo the most terrible chemo side effects ever. Thankfully he got the all clear this Feb. He has now begun to get his strength back and has started to work on his Cobra again to try and get it on the road this year. He has asked me to look up on here about the header/expansion tank for the radiotor but I didnt know where to look for it. He says that there is an extra piece of pipe coming out near the screw top but cant work out where it should connect to? Can anyone help? I know he is going to struggle with finishing the car as for a year we had to use his savings to survive while he was out of work undergoing the treatment but like his positiveness with his cancer - he will not give in and he shall have his dream on the road as soon as he can! THANK YOU Diane (pauls wife)

Hi Diana, We need to know what type of tank it is, if as I suspect it has two large pipes only, and one small one, it goes in the top hose, the little one is only an overflow pipe, and goes to ground. I could send you a photo if you send me your e-mail, if not let me know and we will find another way. regards Frank Dowsett. BLOKE.

Thank you Thank you so much for the quick replies. It is a Dax header tank and both your replies answered him. THANK YOU We live in Dagenham and anyone would be welcome to write or pop and see us. Its been a long hard struggle to get to this stage but I know that it shall be all worth it in the end! We went and bought an engine hoist on Saturday and next Sunday Paul wants to put the chevy v8 small block into the Dax AT LONG LAST! It has been sitting in the utility room for the past 4 years waiting to go in! Im fed up polising the air filter with Pledge (ONLY JOKING) HA HA! The main thing that Paul lacks is man power. He has asked friends to pop and help him next Sunday so hopefully it shall all go smoothly. We have been taking photos over the years of trying to get it on the road so when we are a bit more together we shall put some on here to share. We may even call the car "KNOCK BACK" as it has had its share of them while trying to finish it. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN Diane & Paul

People are so kind! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who will read this as it really shows how many nice people are out there. After having the worse year of our lives and having to watch Paul (husband) go through so much it really brightens our life to see people wanting to help us. As I mentioned, the car should be called "KNOCK BACK" as it really has been knocked back so much to complete it. Paul never once complained while having his chemo and it puts me to shame to think I used to moan at the slightest ache or pain. I know it must have hurt him to have to use his savings for his paint work and interior for his cobra while he was ill but we had no alternative but to use it to survive while he could not work. I did write to some people on the internet to see if they could "make a wish come true" but they couldnt help me. I am going to (walk) the Race for Life (cancer research) on Sunday 1 June to put something into helping others in the future. I kept trying to think of ways that I could get his dream finished but where do I start? I even thought that If I asked everyone to donate £1 nothing more maybe it could make his dream come true. I just go round in circles in my head to try and think of how I could make his dream come true but dont know how to do it. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN Diane

| Hi Diane Sorry to hear about Paul but glad he is on the mend and the car is being continued. If you have any more questions please post them here. There are many friendly Dax builders and owners who will reply more or less straight away. I'm one of them! Best of luck to you both Craig.
