I would start with the SVA guide and work through it asking questions here as they arise, the solutions will be here with someone.

I agree with Toddy. The most upto date version of the SVA manual is March / April 2004 which in a finalised version I have never found on the internet. There is however a draft version available everywhere on the internet which is pretty much identical and will be a good start.
