Rolling Road with Edelbrock knowledge?

I have an AK with the Rover V8 and Edelbrock 500cfm carb. It has recently been to "Classic Cars of Kent" for the carb to be matched to the engine (High lift cams, etc)
What a waste of time and money...9 weeks later and they still can't book me back in. They only had a few needles, and hoped for the best...
Does any one know of a tuning company in surrey (around croydon?) that has a rolling road and can match & fit the correct needles or jets (I have the calibration kit) ???
Summer's here and I am fed up with "flat spots" and black unspent fuel exhaust..

I've done some work on this carb with my 3.5, my 4.6, and my mates 3.5.

Basically if you put it all back to standard but replace the needles with the 67x55 ones it will be pretty close.
If you then set the pilot screws to 1+3/4 or 2 (maybe even 1+7/ then your mixture strength will be around 31.5:1 right across the rev range which is OK.

(max power is made at around 12.5:1 but you'll have to up the secondaries by quite a bit to get that. I'm on the 104 secondaries at the mo and its still only 13:1. These jets are not part of the normal kit!)

I'd do the above even if you still intend to have the car put on a rolling road, if you are driving round with the standard setup you'll be washing the bores.

Sorry, can't help recommend a RR though!

Pete

Slightly unfair to post only one side of the story here Bob as Simon doesn't post here!. But he did tell me the saga yesterday!
From what he said you were booked in and he did an hours worth of setup and dyno runs. The car was running very lean, and you were told that this was due to the fact that the Facet Square Solid State pump fitted was not up to the job. (correct so far?) You were then told that rather than waste any more time and your money, you should go away and upgrade the pump, fit a Filterking regulator and obtain a calibration kit. Once this was done you could rebook and he would be able to sort it out for you. (again correct?) Sometime later you rang Simon on his mobile to rebook as you had done what he said, but he was in SPA at the time and asked you to ring back on the following Tuesday when he was back and he would book you in! Despite being told this you still rang him several more times over the weekend! You also rang Kent Classic Cars demanding your money back. Again you were told that you had paid for their time and they had told you what was wrong and what to do to rectify it. You became demanding as to when they should carry out the work and that they should give you written proof that the car would be spot on. At which point they said FU! Hence why you are still waiting after 9 weeks
Hope this clears up a few points

Unlike me to go against a fellow AK owner Wilf. But I also know Simon of Kent Classic as a friend/customer and he is as straight as a straight thing

Always two sides to any story Chris. Although her indoors seems to think that her version is always correct............

After reading Chris's post I wish that I had not posted up my suggestions

Its a bit much to slag of a company when you are only giving half the truth at best!

That seems to have taken the wind out of Bob's sails as you might say. One post and then dissappears
