Talking Another newbie reporting in

Afternoon everyone, long time lurker now finally deciding to dip his toe in the water. I have kept the same user name I post under on PistonHeads so as not to confuse myself when using the different boards....getting old you know

I've made the decision to buy a cobra and have been using this site and the associated links to work out what I want and how to go about getting it. Have to say the site is an excellent font of knowledge and I'm just about decided on what I would like..... subject to input from regular posters as first hand knowledge is the best source of opinion in my view

I have to sell my current steed first (anyone want to buy a Cayman S ?) but will then look to have a car built for me. My current preferred option is have one of the new Dax De Dion chassis built for me with a Ford engine installed. From what I can ascertain by googling a few references on the site the mad looking bloke in the wooly hat looks like a dead cert for having a car built to highly recommended standards and Mike Huddart has plenty of nice things said about him for his engine building skills.

I'll try to get along to a few meets and get to know some of you face to face if possible..... and blag a few passenger rides if available

Regards

Grey Ghost

Welcome

Mike and Dave are both in the same neck of the woods, and between them you can get a great car built......

There are several manufacturers that will build a car for you. Depends what you are looking for really, a high degree of authenticity or a bling mobeel or.........

Having said that, you won't go far wrong with Mr B and Mr H.

At least he is not a BMW driver..............

And the words "old" and "grey" usually both precede that particular epithet when applied to my good self.

My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

I thought that was what preceded 'whistle test'?? I can sort of visualize you tapping your foot to the Eagles live session circa 1976 (quality)...
