Hi there guys and girls,
My name is Danny smith, myself and a few work colleges have been kindly given a rover V8 3.5ltr, in not to good a state.
We are all apprentices, doing a four year course in aeronautical engineering, as we are now in our third year, we were asked to set our self a project, so we decided to rebuild and recondition an engine. As I said someone was kind enough to give us an engine. But you know how it is, if its free there is usually a catch! The engine has seen better days. The engine was filled with water as it had been sat out side for a while. We have had it for a week now and it is totally stripped down all we have is the block left on the stand.
We are going to be replacing most of the parts. And the parts that don’t need replacing we will be reconditioning. The block and heads are all going to be sand blasted, the pulleys and rocker covers are all going to be powered coated. So hopefully by the end it should look and run like new. As we are going along we are taking photos of the before parts and after they have been reconditioned. If any one out there is interested in what we are doing then please let me know.
