| Gary As you may have guessed the question of which car to buy comes up very often and is always met with the same replies, Everyone jumping and saying the car they chose is the best one out there. Unfortunately there is only one person who can make that decision and that's you, Take a look at budget, and what you want from the end product. If a slightly cheaper build but still a great car is your thing then look at the Pilgrim on Ford running gear, If the original look is your deal then take a look at Crendon, Kirkham or Hawk cars. For in between cars there is the Dax and AK and if you want a car that handles well and will do well at track days but still look great then check out GD, Dax De-Dion and Madgewick. All the cars listed above have been in the business sometime and are all good cars. Any problems you encounter will have been seen before and that's where this forum comes into play. Just ask a question and it will be answered. My advice is to look at the all the products, narrow your choice down and then visit those manufacturers. Take a close look at the product, not just how fast it goes on the test drive, or how good the tea is and see what suits you best. I chose Dax as it fitted my needs perfectly and no other car came close. Good luck again Craig. |

| Very sensible advice, or if you can afford it buy all the manufacturer specific items at the beginning, chassis/suspension items and body are probably the key items.

It is in no way top spec, but definitely doable for not much more than a Dax, AK etc.

| You did very well to build under 20K. My Dax has cost nearer £35K and I'm not quite finished with it yet! ![]() Just goes to show that any of the cars out there can be built to whatever budget you have available, if you try hard enough. Craig. |
