Hi all

Hi all.

I have joined this forum site to find out about your cars with the possibility of buying one in the future.
I thought the best way is to find things out first about the car & the people who own them plus the social side which is of particular interest to me. What is the point of owning a great car and not enjoying it on days out or a long weekender.
I wont be posting much, just popping in from time to time to see what is going on. I am one of the people who just has an interest in cars, old & new.
I own 3 MGB's at the moment and I use an PT Cruiser as an every day car. The cars I owned from the past are as follows.
Mini Van, Triumph 1300tc, Vauxhall Viva, Dolomite Sprint, Triumph MII 2,000 & 2.5, 2 TR7's, Audi Quattro, Toyota Supra 3,000 Turbo plus a few more

Bob.

Hi Bob

welcome to the forum. Perhaps the best way then to find out about these cars is to head along to a local meet, (details in the sidebar on the right of the homepage).

Someone will take you out for a spin in one... at that point you may find yourself hooked!! Nothing quite like a big noisy V8 strutting its stuff in a little light sportscar to make you and everyone nearby sit up and take notice!

The other place to go is the national kitcar show at Stoneleigh in the midlands next month. Lots of cobs and owners there... again details on the sidebar

Have not heard anything on the trip you mention in the other post however there is a strong social scene with this club, plenty of meets and trips out.

go on... you know you want one!!!

Thank you all for making me feel welcome 7 for the advice. I went to Jersey a few years ago with th MG club. They were showing off in a car park untill one of them who bought an AC over and made a bit of a noise. The locals could hear it on the Golf course a mile & a half away.

Hello and welcome Bob, yes, get yourself to Stoneleigh if you want to know anything about kit cars in general, or Cobras in particular, usually 200 ish cobs to pour over, and as a pt owner you will probably enjoy stars and stripes at tatton pk (big pt owners club meet), later in the year

Bob - welcome.

Take your time, have a good and close look at the "scene" and then decide what you want. More than one variety of Cobra replica out there, all different.

As a big clue, ask people who are on their second or third car why they moved to a different marque. They tend to be more objective than those in the first flush of love with their first buy! LOL

Hi Bob and welcome to our corner. Wish you all the best in your quest and as said above, get yourself to the shows and club meets. Wilf has a point about ownership and I must say that I didn't go out to buy a Dax. It was dead in a barn and I felt sorry for it.....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. My avatar says it all, but that is not to detract from the excellent product Dax produce. My Dax is spawn from that cult film Christine, but it has forgotten how to repair itself. In fact it is quite the opposite.

I say, once bitten by a Snake...
You wont be able to drive it frequently, then again you can only drive your MG´S , one at the time. You´ll find most of the cobra owners, also own other cars simultaneously, but when it´s cobra time... there is nothing like it !!!
As it was sugested by my fellow members of this forum, go to the shows where cobras are predominant and if you don´t get bitten , then you weren´t close enough to a Cobra
