Hi Mike and welcome to the forum,

couple of places to site the pump. Some put it under the car, bolted to the chassis where the central section of the chassis widens out again, near the rear axle.

I placed mine in the boot in the space behind the n/s rear wheel. Figured it would be easier to get to if need be and a bit more protected for both it and the fuel filter. Wherever you put it, don't use one of the glass filters as these have been known to break.

Sorry don't have pics to hand but sure others will have.

    What Lloyd said.

My Carter pump is mounted in the same way, and draws fuel up on a suction head of approx 12" without any issues from the underslung tank.

I recommend you fit a metal cage around it so it and the pipework can't be hit by anything moving around in the boot.

I also recommend you fit a filter on the suction side, also in the boot, so you can get to it.

I also ran a Carter pump, in a Dax with the tank under the boot floor. No problems at all with a 450hp small block chevy.
