Just saying HI..!! and a question..!

Hi Guys... been lurking a while, might have even had a chat to some of you over at stoneleigh a few weeks back...

Been looking for a while to 'dip' my foot in the Cobra world, been to see a few bad examples but today saw a Gravetti. Now its a nice car, needs a little bit of TLC and pampering, but has the making of a nice toy!! But i was really shocked to the amount of foot space by the pedals... Is this a common thing with these cars or is it specific to this kit???

How and by the way... i dont have shreks feet..! standard size 10!!

    Cheers
    Waz

I agree with Col, I think they are all fairly similar space wise, Pedal offset can vary between marques a bit.
I have wide feet and don't have any trouble in the DAX, for sale BTW.

Never miss an opportunity I say.

Looks like i'm going to have to cut a couple of toes off then. The whole cockpit did feel very cramped, i'm only 5'11 but my feet were practically together all the time. Still not ruled it out as there seemed to be some space on the other side of the bulkhead, maybe for a cheeky leg room mod..!!

Off to try another tomorrow, a euro 427...

As for your Dax Kev, it looks great but out of my range at present

Cobras generally have pretty small footwells as they are a fairly narrow car with a dirty great V8, and hence a large bellhousing, in there. There will be differences between marques tho so makes sense to try a few before you buy. Perhaps head along to the local west mids club meet and sit in a few?

welcome to the club and good luck with your hunt

I've sat in the drivers side of four (AK, Dax, Cobretti and GD) so far - I'd rank them Dax->Cobretti->AK->GD in terms of footwell size, largest to smallest.. Oddly I'd rank them GD->Dax->AK->Cobretti in terms of cabin size, though (though I am .. ungodly large and have size 12/13 feet to boot!)

thats because the GD has a spaceframe chassis between the engine, and the footwells,

Oddly, the mk4 is actually skinnier in the footwell than the mk3 as the mk4 cills curve more sharply than the mk3.

There is also a footwell side extension that you can fit, adds another 2 inches space around the clutch pedal,

I knew why it had a skinny little footwell What I couldn't figure out was how come the cabin felt so roomy despite the big backbone down the centre, which logically I figured would have to make the whole cabin feel narrower.. yet it felt much wider than even the Dax, which barely has a centre tunnel to speak of.. and they all measure within 1" of each other between the doors.

Maybe it's down to sitting lower down in the GD vs the others, so you sit more in the 'bulb' of the body? T'was most odd though I didn't expect to fit in at all, let alone fit well!

Evening guys... been to see a fiero euro 427 today. In comparison to the Gravetti the footwell was cavernous... So i did the decent thing and put down a deposit!!!!

Can't wait to collect it now!!!
