    Hi folks

    Hey Cobra people,

    Mark here from Edinburgh.
I've always loved Cobras, especially the Dax 427. I can't put my finger on why I do, but it just looks and sits perfect in my eyes.

Anyway, I'm currently running around in a very rare 1947 Plymouth Coupe which was featured in the June 2011 issue of Custom Car.
It's running a very hot 355ci V8, has airbags all round and was built in Florida before being imported in early 2010.
Before that I had bought a 354ci V8 hemi powered 1929 Model A Coupe from Arizona and shipped it over here.
I then spent 5 months getting the Model A ready for the UK MOT, registering it and ran about in it for a while before changing to the Plymouth.

The thing is....the Plymouth is pretty much finished and doesn't need anything doing to it. And I'm missing the evenings and weekends I spent in the garage with the A Coupe.
So now I'm toying with the idea of selling the 47 and building a Dax from scratch, using a big block 502
I plan to do some researchover the next few weeks and hang a round here, see what I can find.

In the meantime here are some pictures of my current cruiser and the 400bhp Model A

    Cheers
    Mark

    Welcome.

Speeds bumps must be a nightmare in the Plymouth

    Great looking cars.

Thats a big engine for the Cobra - you going to put concrete weights in the boot

    Hi Mark

Welcome to the place. Loving the Plymouth!!! Bet that causes as much of a stir as a Cob when you stop at a fuel station.
Dax have a Chevy big block demonstrator so worth a trip to see them at some point if you haven't already.

Lloyd, there's nothing better than pulling into Tescos and watch everyone stare.....then I hit the button for the airride and drop the car on the deck.

    Thanks mate.
The Plymouth runs on airride technologies suspension and has up to 6" of lift when required.
I usually run it at 4" unless there's speed bumps, and 3" on the motorway.

    Cheers

    Awesome,
is the A-Ford still on drums in the front (all-around then probably), do they cope with traffic today and, even more so, with the hemi?

Welcome to the forum, Great cars you have too. I have a friend that has a 32 Ford with a 351 Cleveland in it that we play in occasionally, Good fun in the dry!

Good choice on the Dax too, You won't go far wrong with one of them, Good luck on the build.
