Hello from a RAM Newbie

Hi to you all.

I'm a newbie here, and a nearly new Cobra Replica owner.

I had a Sumo with Ford 3.0 V6 a couple of years ago, but I just bought a part finished RAM with a 5.7l Chevy block, which I am paying to have finished.

I'll have a bundle of questions, I'm sure. But right now, if anyone can point me in the direction of a good place to buy leather seats that will fit in the RAM, and Hallibrand replicas, or some other suitable period style wheels, I'd appreciate it.

Best regards
DrD

Hi ya Doc

Welcome and get those questions flowing.

As for seats I used Richfield, look good and are soft on the butt, as the cars not finished I use them as garden chairs can post a pic if you want.

Re: Hello from a RAM Newbie

Hi DrD

I've just ordered some Halibrand reps from Team 111 Wheels in the states http://www.team3wheels.com/ac/ 2@ 7 x 16" & 2 @ 9.5 x 16 inc spinners, nuts and nut covers £903 + shipping, inport duty @ 4.2% + Vat, 2-3 weeks to make and ship!:-} Same size from Image £1492 + Vat, 8 weeks delivery The £589 saving more than covers the shipping and import duty and will probably leave enough for a couple of tyres
Cheers

Excellent advice, thanks for that. I not that Dax offer 17" Halibrand reps for £1200 + Vat. Does, antyone know if they are happy to sell them to non-Dax builders?

Same with Pilgrim, they list leather seats for £600 per pair (inc VAT). Are they happy to let non SUmo builders buy them. Should I take this to another area of the forum?

Re: Hello from a RAM Newbie

My guess is that Dax will sell you anything you want , they reckon that the supply the wheels / tyres cheaper than you can get them from Image because of the number they buy.
Just be careful that the wheel offsets are the same as they are for a Dax.
I don't know if the Ram is different.

Doc

Pilgrim will sell you seats but, you can get the same things with a steel tube frame from Richfield for just over the £600 mark including runners in leather face. I pondered over the two and opted for Richfield due to the stronger (Iam a lard arse) frame, they also offer a wider range of colours.
