Newbie in Italia

Hi Guys, I recently moved from the UK to live here in Italy, up in the Appenine mountains. The good news is that my wife has told me today that i can build a cobra replica, the bad news is that i have to finish restoring our house (it isnt even started yet!). Ive wanted a cobra since i was a wee nipper but have always settled for something else. I currently own 3 cars, a 2004 Fiat Panda, 1992 Toyota Hilux Surf and a 1963 Ford Thunderbird Convertible complete with 390 big block which is coming to the end of a 15 year ground up restoration.
The plan is to keep the T'bird and add a Cobra kit to the collection, and she is only too pleased as long as the house is complete, so i guess that will be 1 or 2 years away. Does anybody out there know of any other owners out there in Italy, or possibly know what Italian authorities are like when it comes to kit cars? I havn't managed to find much out yet. Any help greatly appreciated
