Finally did it!

Hi there!
Well, I finally did it, after years of looking, dreaming, saving; I bought a Cobra!
So yesterday (saturday) I got a lift from from Nottingham to Great Dunmow, Essex (thank you John!) , handed over the contents of my bank account, and drove away in a nice, shiny, very together RAM 427SC with a 302 Ford motor.
Ice cold (1C!), salty, and damp, but I still had a great drive, and the acceleration is a hoot!
I was that thrilled, I drove around in it all afternoon when I got home, 250 miles in total; great stuff, can't wait for summer!
Cheers for all the advice from the forums,
Steve..:thumb:

Re: Finally did it!

Ermm yes that would be me then... quite hard to see it roar off into the distance. I miss it alot (my neighbour doesnt as it set his car alarm off every time I started her up)

I was worried about Steve getting it home in one piece when we had snow the day before, so am happy to hear that. I sold it because it was a shame to turn a period correct pre-sva car into a race-car mongrel with all the wear'n'tear involved. (which was the plan all along hence the reason for going with a track proven chassis, the RAM)

Its being replaced with another RAM, actually a Bardahl Trophy Ram that is currently being rebuildt over the winter. So hopefully the Cobra-less period will be brief and by spring I should be roaring around in an aero-screened black 351-windsor powered beast on trackdays and sprints.

So, yes I feel like crap for selling it, but wish Steve all the best and fun with it on dry sunny winter days.

Re: Finally did it!

Steve, youve got a nice one there, look after her well, she was on my shortlist but found an SRV8 with Chevy first. My loss your gain.

Re: Finally did it!

Hey Steve

Enjoyed talking to you the this evening (got me out of cleaning up the kitchen)..... Just to confirm the owner before me was Dean Rinaldi, I have his e-mail here if you want it..... mail me, don't want to post his address here. I will try to find Ken's as well.

Anyway, she is a very good girl and has promised not to spit out anymore gearboxes.

Carsten, I'm glad you did pass her on, must have been a close thing.....

Derek
Very Cobraless.................
