Beachcomber

Hi Everyone,
I've just joined in the forum fun. I've been around some time now. Imported 2 Steve Arnzt Replicas back in 1978 - built one [ Midlands] - sold one to someone down in Harlow. Been involved in Speciality car design / manufacture all my working life. Now semi-retired, but still involved in consultancy [ design / marketing] to the Replica industry both in the UK and Germany. Recently involved with the new RAM "Trophy R" and "Trophy 4 x 4" - based on their Bardahl Trophy one make race series cars. And with Mohr Innovationen in Germany with their new Cobra [ European Market], Porsche 356 Roadster and Porsche 550A replicas.

Been directly involved with CS and Shelby American - also CS's European Transplant Trust, for which I was the European Liaison Officer. Had a real ball too, being directly involved with "the man" and his associates for many years.

Thank's to Cobra replicas I've been all over Europe and the USA and met some exceptional people [ and, not a few assholes] and been privvy to some exciting developments both in the cars and the global explosion of the replica market.
Highlight? Driving a RAM Bardahl race car [ with RTE cameraman aboard] around Le Mans prior to the 1994 race, filming Shelby driving a RAM SC. Just the two cars on the circuit - I can die happy.

Re: Beachcomber

OK, lets air this, as I have some concerns.

I have been contacted by Beachcomber with regard to press releases etc as he is representing Ram and Mohr Innovationnen in Germany, however on asking for his proper name as opposed to his forum name, he spun me a nice little yarn. If you are fronting a company, then why is there any need to hide behind a pseudonym?

So, on to google I pop and type in his email address and there are a few items up on the net that show his real name, and a further search on his real name came up with his links to prior dealings within the industry.

He was involved in the original Sheldonhurst and a number of other . http://www.speedsters.com/discus/mes...tml?1065948593

We cannot draw any conclusions from previous dealings, however members should be aware of the background of anyone they deal with.

So, if you have dealings with Baron Manfred von Hauab, you are actually dealing with Terry Sands.

Re: Beachcomber

You seem to be jumping to several conclusions Robert - one being that I "am fronting a company". Please get your facts straight before publishing any potential defamatory material.
I have been asked to produce PR material on behalf of several companies on a completely independant basis. Something I have been doing for many years.
As regards to past events - the Speedsters Club are in the process of receiving written notification of intent regarding unsubstantiated allegations appearing oin their website. It might be wise for you not to fall into the same trap.
As regards the hiding behind a name - the pen name is one that I have written under for many years. Perhaps you might have had the courtesy to speak to me directly before rushing out your posting to ascertain the true facts?

Re: Beachcomber

Terry

Firstly, our members need to know with whom they are dealing.

Secondly, you are the effective mouth piece of the two companies, therefore you are "fronting" the companies. The fact that you may not have any direct involvement is immaterial, you are the Public Relations department, therefore people ought to know with whom they are dealing from a PR perspective.

With regard to defamatory allegations, we have a clearly defined policy within our terms and conditions which as a new user you would have read recently. For clarity, I have listed the pertinent section below.

All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of the CRC, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message. By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

I am happy to furnish you with my home address if you would like to take this further through the legal process, however nothing I have written can be classed as defamatory or libelous as I have purely stated fact and information in the public domain.

WRT your final point, I did contact you and ask for your correct name, would you like me to forward the original email to you?
