MOT Time

Has anyone used Macdonald racing at Lanchester for MOT's or tuning. Or maybe someone can point me at a friendly garage?

Hi,

yes I've used them for tuning - not too impressed. The chap that did mine (SBC with edelbrock carb) struggled as he hadn't seen an edelbrock / weber carb before - just as well I brought the manual with me!

I've taken mine here for the past several years for an MOT without any problems hi-performance auto centres (normally use the Hi-Performance2 garage)

What does it say on your V5 in section V, subsections V.1/V.2 ?

Nothing to worry about then

The car is only subject to a visual smoke test not a metered emissions test. Take the V5 with you when you go for MOT and point this out if they try and do an emissions test.

Hi Chris,

Yes they MOT while you wait - very friendly bunch and they're happy for you to be with the car whilst they carry out the MOT (though you do need to make an appointment).

Took the V5 with me the first time I went there just in case they tried to do an emissions test (like the garage I walked away from the day earlier that insisted that it had to have an emissions test) - didn't even need to show it them.
