B.R.A. 427 Cobra For Sale

Hi All,

It is with mixed emotions that I must sell my beautiful 1973 BRA 427 Cobra, the only reason for this sale (and i stress the ONLY reason) is I have been promoted at work and am off to head up our offices in Dubai, a quick sale is not a necessity as i don't leave for 3 months, however the sooner the better.

So details are as follows:

1973 factory Built BRA Cobra (one of 38 only to be built by factory)
Jag Running Gear (of course)
3.5 Rover v8
16,500 miles
5 Months MOT
SORN Tax
Loads of receipts
Brand new paint job in blue with Silver racing stripes
Motolita wooden steering wheel
Black leather interior with black carpet.
Side pipes
New tyres
Mohair hood
Tonneaue Cover


Fantastic working order, no problems to tell of, recent new parts inc: Battery and Steering Rack.

Thought I should add that on the V5 it is registered as a Jaguar, for those of you that want to know.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but with a V5 showing the car as a Jaguar you have very little chance of selling it for reasonable money if at all.

I would suggest you have a search on the Forum for threads detailing registration issues and get ready for much badgering of the DVLA, providing lots of information, old MOt's, tax discs etc etc to have any chance of re registering it without going down the SVA route.

Whenever anyone asks for advice on the forum re buying a Cobra the first comment made is " if its not registered as a Cobra, but still registered as the donor Jaguar, Cortina, Granda et al walk away."

Your next three months will be busy.

Ok, well thanks for the advice Tony, if it doesnt sell then i'll store it, i genuinely love the car and am far from an expert on Cobra's, have always liked them, and when I had the money, saw one that fitted the bill (blue, V8, sidepipes, good condition, factory built etc) I bought it.

I'll either let it go for next to nothing (but not THAT cheap) or store it a car storage place for 2 years until I get back, thats the beauty of Cobra's, they are beautiful no matter the age!
