Smile Soft top for sale...

Hi guys,

I have one of the legendary DB hard tops because I drive all year round in the UK. So... one soft top for sale because it is getting no use with me. The hard top is better for my daily driving, particularly with parking at strange hotels and the winter weather in the UK

List of bits included:
-------------------------

The soft top with clear window and quarterlights (is that the right word?) integrated across the rear of the hood. There are no creases in the window sections. Also integrated are the front fixing brackets for clipping to the windscreen

Passenger side metal-framed side window (aka door top) that attaches to the soft top with velcro and mounts in two holes in the top surface of each door. The metal frame is stitched inside the fabric and so invisible. For some reason I can't find the driver side window and mounting cylinders. I'll post again if I do find it but for the moment assume it will need to be replaced

Hood frame (holds soft top up above you and above the roll hoops) which mounts in one hole each side of the bodywork and attaches to the inside of the hood via integrated velcro fasteners

Mounting cylinders for the side window. The window has two metal spurs protruding from the bottom of the frame. These seat in two metal cylinders that are fitted to the top of the door. I have removed these cylinders to go with the window

Mounting cylinders for the hood frame. I have also removed the two cylinders from the body that the frame seats in

List of bits you would need to source:
-----------------------------------------------

The catches / hooks that screw onto the windscreen frame and allow the hood to clamp on to the screen (my hard top reused these)

The studs that sit in the bodywork around the roll hoops. Obviously the hood has all the poppers integrated into the fabric and just needs the studs to press on to

Driver side window and mounting cylinders for top surface of the door

The hood is in good condition with no tears or holes and was only used for about 2,000 miles in total. I've attached a picture to show the top in place:

Price wise I've had a look around and I'd want £500 for it (to compensate for the need to have a driver window made and press studs fitted). If the hood has to be posted I'd need a destination address to calculate that on top. Any questions then just drop me a PM or post here

Cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy, the previous owner of my Magnum lost the hood but there are a selection of fittings in place. The chance of them lining up exactly is pretty slim, but as I only need this for emergency use on trips abroad it may well be OK. I am down in South Devon and perhaps a run up to try a fit (on a dry day) would be worthwhile, where abouts in Wiltshire are you? Do you know where I can buy a sidescreen to fit?
Regards

Scott

Hi Scott,

I'm in Pewsey a little below Marlborough. For a side window I'm not sure who makes them. My hood came with the car. I reckon a search on the forums might turn up a supplier. Either that or try the ads in the back of the club magazine. People on here usually have the answer though

Andy
