Grille fitting Hi again Can I ask how the grilles are fitted. Just tried them for size and they are all oversize for the apertures they have to fit. Should they fit into the apertures or stay just behind. To make them fit the aperture will mean removing some fibreglass material. Is this correct?? Cheers Phil

Re: Grille fitting Phil, I found the Sumo 'grill' a bit much so changed to the single bar effect with an invisible grill 2" in from of the radiator. Check the pictures out at my web site build: http://www.softstar.co.uk/cobra click on the after SVA button Steve

| Re: Grille fitting Also consider that grilles do restrict airflow to your radiator,so if you are going to go down that road make sure that the grill has holes big enough to let plenty of air through.

Re: Grille fitting They need to be oversize as they fit inside, with Silkafix (used to seal all the chassis gaps) and the main grill has 6 self tap ss screws. I know several cars have no grill but I was concerned about rad damage and mine has not overheated in 3 yrs.

Re: Grille fitting I used 1cm square mesh from B&Q, galvanised and then sprayed it black to make it almost invisible. Attached using stainless self tappers and small aluminium brackets to hold the mesh between the fibreglass and the brackets. I've also got my 16 inch kenlow fan on the front of the rad to improve stone/debris protection. I only fitted mesh to main radiator opening, left others clear which was fine for the SVA as the steel ball (simulated knee cap) cannot pass through these other openings. Cheers David
