Re: Some pics......

Here's a pic of the boot stay mounted on the nudge bar mounting bracket with a piece of ali right angle. You can see where I drileld the holes in the wrong place to start with.

There's also a couple of pics showing access panels cut in the rear inner wings for acces to roll bar mountings, fuel tank fixings and fuel pump. There are normally coverd with a stainless panel with a 'gasket' made from chassis sponge round the edge.

Trial fit of carpets - I've used several smaller piecs compared to the larger bits used in the pilgrim carpet set. Footwell carpet is covered is stapled to ply board - ensures a neat perpedicular join with trans tunnel carpet.

... current state of cockpit. Dash was profesionally trimmed, dials are Smiths magnolia classics, with cable speedo drive.

Re: Some pics......

Green vynil panel replaces upper carpet in front of door. Similar styled access panel will be made to cover mounting bolts for door hinge - fibreglass panel delibertaely cut short to allow for later access. Sill carpet not stuck down yet.

Door card will be recovered in magnolia. Modded XJ40 door handle shown.

OK thats it, hope thats useful for some.... back to final carpet trimming.....

cheers,

Kev

Re: Some pics......

Looking Good Kev,

I like the idea of stapling to ply to get a nice join, but how much ply did you use, was it all over the flooring or just a wee bit along the edges?

Im getting to the point where I'll be doing a similar stage but dont know where to start really, I think I may haev to pop down to see dave brooks for the templates or something....
Id probably make an **** otherwise... well see, got a few things to do first though before that....

cheers
Ben
ps. where did you get your gear stick from, looks real nice....

Re: Some pics......

Hi Kev
Nice dash, can you let me know who trimed it for you. I did my own and I'm really not happy with it so I am looking to change next winter.
thanks
