wires wires everywhere and progress report

Well chaps after great determination my baby has good vital signs as elctric is now passing through every part of her loom, switchgear, lights and gadgets. THe push button start was triggered for the first tie and the rev counter, oil pressure, water temp etc etc all moved, lit up and looked good just as it should do.

Only thing that didnt move was the fuel guage funny that.

It must eb said it wasnt easy, everything worked great apart from the dipped headlights, after spending hours with a continuity tester and testing relays, fuses etc etc it came to light the dipped beam and full beam relays needed some modification. Also the wires to full and dip beam needed swaping at the headlamp as I was flashing dipped beam and running full beam on dipped. Never the less with everything heat shrinked, crimped, soldered and taped its all as it should be.

I have to say I own as many shares in Tetley and just for men as I do pilgrim, all this wiring is thirsty and head scratching work with an end result of going grey.

Just have interior to do, one exhaust to mount, bonnet and boot to put back on, various silly jobs like wiring speedo sensor, painting brackets and fixing boot/bonnet struts and thats it SVA time.

Im getting all excited now the end is near. Was horrified at the cost though after adding all the receipts up bearing in mind I had a budget of £15K im just shy of £24K all thats left though is to pay for the interior, SVA fee, MOT & tax and lets not forget hundreds and hundreds of litres of fuel.

Terry it really is a great feeling, when you start bolting the things on for the final time and stand back to admire your work its truly great. I must say its very nerve racking to, every tool you pick up you grip so hard and pray a sigh of relief when you finish using it and move away from the paintwork. Have only had one mishap so far. Thank god I opted for double lacquering as I polished the scratch out. You have to be pretty silly to break through six coats of lacquer.

The shine is undescribable though
